Dr. Mu earned his PhD from Peking University in 2005 before working as a Research Associate at the University of Tokyo, Japan. In 2008, he joined the Qingdao Institute of Bioenergy and Bioprocess Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS-QIBEBT) as an independent Principal Investigator (PI), and was promoted to Full Professor in 2010. He was appointed as the Director of the Green Chemical Engineering Center in 2012, Deputy Director of the CAS Key Laboratory of Biobased Materials in 2013, and Head of the Technology Transfer Center in 2015. Dr. Mu has authored over 100 peer-reviewed scientific papers and holds more than 60 patents.
In 2018, he left CAS to run several start-up companies. He currently serves as the CEO and co-founder of XuenTian Tech, where his focus lies in the commercialization of green process technologies.
